In the hands of Jaded Lover, “It Hurts” is a sonic journey between spaced-out self-reflections, punctuated by the occasional, sweeping bass drop, making it both the perfect track by which to chill and vibe.
“We all have to go sometime,” his voice now somehow powerfully audible over the din of the bar and ambiance of the venue. It seemingly bypassed everyone’s ears altogether, pushing right into their minds.“But for all of us in this room, that night is tonight.”
“Detritus” is a seductive earworm that says much while saying little. Jaded Lover throw a couple of EBM cyborgs from your post-apocalyptic nightmares into their “Sifting Through The Ashes Mix” to round out the single.
Tap tap tap. Too terrified to turn around, the arm I thought was holding my phone has disappeared. I had never made the call. My arm is missing. Earlier I made a call using it and had a full conversation. All I can think is “that man stole my arm.”

Jaded Lover return with a pop-off across the sheets paean to pornography. A sly, slick sing-a-long, “Watching Porno (feat. SaraJeanne)” transmits a generous jerk of electro-static pop. The tight, laughing vocal from SaraJeanne lips the saucy sippy cup with glee.

Samples of lonely maritime gales usher in “At The Dunes,” which pits detuned pads against bass and guitar with a soft, seaside lilt. “Call Of The City” slightly picks up the pace and unfurls into an infectious synth-pop instrumental. “Lawn Mowers At Night,” draws heavily on Potions’ sombre guitar tones over a bed of electronics.
“Disco!” basically does what it says on the tin: catchy dance music flecked with an organic yet polished modern take on the aforementioned genre destined for the dance floor.
“The Thing Expands” is based on Carpenter’s “The Thing” and adds an ominous kick drum while swapping out Ennio Morricone’s string arrangements for analogue synth squelch that’s as cosmic as it is foreboding.
