Dark Balearic

Dark Balearic is a genre I “made up” to reflect the massive span of influences our music encompasses. Maybe (hopefully?) we are caught in a phaseout, where genre seems to be a factor still, but people who enjoy music don’t stick so rigidly to their sacred cows.

Although people do often require things delivered in neat boxes, music included. Ultimately I racked my brain on a flexible genre idea giving Jaded Lover the freedom to do whatever we want creatively.

So rubber hitting the road “Dark Balearic” encompasses all the genres and music we are into and would ever want to make. Think Chicago + New York + Detroit + Manchester + London + Ibiza + Valencia + Berlin + Yadda + Yadda + Yadda…

So why not tweak a “genre” that, to me, means tastefully play and make whatever the hell you want to. 🤷‍♂️

So when aaaaanybody goes, “Well, what music do you make?”
